Garnier BB Cream
BB cream has been long popularized in the Asian beauty community, and it's only now that America is catching on. The hype finally started to spread throughout the US and Canada, and now many popular American brands are creating their version of the BB cream. I've always been curious about the true nature of a BB cream, so I decided to try and get my hands on the Garnier Skin Renew in light/medium.
Immediately I thought, "oh no, this is definitely wayyy to dark for my skin!" I am fairly pale this time of year, and initially because of my horrible application, it was too dark. I squeezed out what seemed to be reasonable amount of product, but which ended up being way to much. I attempted to blend the product as much as I possibly could, but had a slightly "orangey" result. Since then, I realized that a little goes a long way, and I've really grown to love it!
There isn't a crazy difference, but it does even my complexion enough to be noticeable, and it's very hydrating (which is something my skin desperately needs in a product).
I got my sister to try the cream as well. She has oily skin and I was curious to find out whether it would be suitable for her as well. She found the formula blended evenly, and with a little time, it settled in creating a dewy look. I do recommend setting this cream with a powder if you have oily skin though, just to increase lasting power.
I've been using a really pigmented concealer to cover any "problem areas," but overall the BB cream works well in my makeup routine.
A con to this product is definitely the colour range. I know BB creams are not known to come in a great variety of colours, but even the 2 options given by Garnier will not cover all their basis. They offer light/medium, and medium/dark. This is something that could definitely be worked on. Other then that, I would give this cream a go if you're in the market for something hydrating, sheer, but with just enough coverage for everyday use! It's also SPF 15!
I recommend buying this product at Wal-Mart where I managed to pick it up for $12, as opposed to Shoppers who were selling it for $20.
